  LPB has adequate standard molecular biology instrumentation. This includes polymerase chain reaction machine, protein gels, western blot, gel drier, DNA/RNA horizontal gel systems, gel photography system with thermal printer, sequencing gels, digital multiple pipettes, fluorometer, dual beam spectrophotometer, hoods, autoclaves, balance, drying ovens, centrifuges, freezers and refrigerators, laminar flow hood, centrifugal vacuum lyophylizer, incubators, plant growth chambers, liquid N2 storage, tissue dryers, water baths, UV table, UV cross linker, hybridization oven, ultrasound bath, gas chromatograph, automated tissue grinder, visitors offices, etc. In addition, LPB has access to high throughput genomic facilities (array readers, capillary electrophoresis analyzers, last generation genome sequencers) available with cooperating Institutes in the vicinity of Heraklion area.
